CHOICES 2010 Harriet Ginsburg Woman of Choice is Announced

Jodi Krinker is the 2010 Harriet Ginsburg Woman of Choice to be recognized at the annual CHOICES Women's Division event on Thursday, March 11, 2010. This honor is intended to recognize a woman in our community who has served as a role model and who consistently inspires new leaders to grow and develop.

Jodi Krinker is a Past President of the JCC of Greater Orlando Board of Directors (2004-2007), having the distinction of being only the third female president in its 30-year history. In addition to serving on the JCC Board for over 12 years, she has served on the Federation's Board of Directors for the past four years - co-chairing the Lion of Judah Division of the Federation's 2009 Campaign.  Beyond her formal civic participation, Jodi has always opened her home to host a variety of luncheons, dinners and meetings on behalf of the Federation, Israel and the greater Jewish community within Orlando.

Jodi was chosen because she exemplifies the mission of the Women's Division, which is dedicated to the survival and continuity of Israel and the Jewish people through tradition, tzedakah, and tikkun olam.

CHOICES Corporate Sponsorships

On Thursday, March 11, 2010, the Women’s Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando will be holding its annual Choices Dinner. This is our largest fundraising and outreach event for women in the Jewish community, with an expected attendance of over 400 women to take part in an evening of education and celebration. The goal of this event is to raise vital funds to support people in need.

During these trying times in particular, donations to the Jewish Federation help individuals who have lost their jobs, cannot pay the rent or need food to tide them over for the month. We are also here for our seniors, providing social activities and helping with urgent needs like housing and food.  Moreover, Federation dollars help Jewish families and children overseas in Israel and 60 countries around the world.  We want all of the money we raise at this event to go toward strengthening Jewish identity through these important programs, but in order to do so we need the contributions of valued sponsors in order to defray program costs.

Please consider becoming a Choices sponsor in 2010, sponsorships start at just $500 and give you the opportunity to market your business to over 15,000 people through print and internet advertisements.  Corporate sponsorships opportunities start at $500 and becoming a sponsor is easy – just go to www.JFGO.org and click on Choices or contact Emely Katz, Director of Development, at 407-645-5933 ext. 239 regarding any sponsorship questions you may have.  The deadline to act on this priceless opportunity is Friday, January 15, 2010.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.

CHOICES Planning Committee Meeting

The Planning Committee for Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando’s annual Choices fundraiser met on Monday, December 7, to discuss goals and the program for the 2010 Women’s Division event.  The Committee Co-chairs, Lisa Feldman and Rachel Gebaide, are long time community leaders and are both very excited to have the opportunity to engage women of all ages in the community’s most impressive all-female Jewish philanthropic event.

Held at Church Street Station, Choices 2010 promises to be one of the most memorable events yet, with luxurious raffle prizes and renowned speaker, Iris Krasnow.   Author of New York Times best seller, Surrendering to Marriage, as well as I Am My Mother’s Daughter to name a few, Krasnow has been a journalist, writer and professor for many years, discussing life in the context of marriage, childrearing and aging.  Come celebrate the power of women’s philanthropy in Central Florida with over 400 women and the Jewish Federation on Thursday, March 11, meet likeminded women and raise vital funds for those in need.
