Building meaningful friendships
Through Shalom Families, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando sponsors monthly Jewish cultural and holiday events and serves as a means for Jewish Central Florida families with young children to connect and forge meaningful friendships.
From special Shabbat outings in the park to one-of-a-kind family mitzvah projects, Shalom Families incorporates uniquely Jewish themes in its programming. Most Shalom Families events are provided at little or no charge by the Jewish Federation.
Shalom Families engagement events are held throughout the area at various family-friendly locations with the goal of reaching families already engaged with the community as well as unengaged families who may not be affiliated with a synagogue or a Jewish preschool.
Shalom Families is committed to helping Central Florida families build lifelong Jewish traditions and Jewish identities.

Join PJ Library/Shalom Families on Friday, May 5, at 5:30 pm for a Shabbat Potluck Picnic in the Park celebrating Lag B'Omer!
We'll have Shabbat baskets with challah, juice and candles for all the families, along with special crafts and activities! Lag B'Omer is the favorite holiday of PJ Library's Ari the Ant, who will join in on the fun!
Our wonderful Shalom Families committee will be bringing pasta and a baked potato & salad bar! Please bring a picnic blanket and a side dish, salad or dessert to share (kosher/parve/dairy); and come find out why, if you were in Israel, you might also eat a baked potato on Lag B'Omer!
Space is limited and registration is required! Please sign up online here! Registration will be closed and a waiting list started when the maximum number of participants have signed up.
This program is brought to you free of charge by the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando! If you love attending our programs, and would like to make a donation for future programs, please click here!
